Dog Crate Size Guide: Find the Perfect Fit

Choosing the right crate size is key to your dog’s comfort and happiness. This guide will help you measure your dog and select the perfect size based on their breed, body type, and sleeping habits.

📏 Step 1: Measure Your Dog

Use a soft measuring tape and follow these two simple steps:

  • Length: Measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail (not the end of the tail).
  • Height: Measure from the ground to the top of the head or ears (whichever is taller).

Add 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) to both measurements for comfort and movement.

🐶 Tips for Choosing the Right Size

  • If your dog is between sizes, size up for comfort — but not so big that it no longer feels cozy.
  • For puppies, choose the size they’ll grow into. You can temporarily add soft dividers or cushions to reduce excess space while they grow.
  • Dogs that stretch out when sleeping (like greyhounds or labs) often appreciate a bit more floor space.
